Hello RWR community,

Looking for some help today. I've recently tried to update RWR to the latest version but found that when I try on steam is locks up Steam, and claims it will take multiple days to download/install the update (and the estimated time just keeps rising). It completely locks up the program to where any action I take on steam takes about 2 minutes to actually process; for instance, if I try to pause the RWR update. I wanted to try reinstalling the game, but even that locks up other parts of my system. If I try to "delete local content" on steam, after pausing the update, it locks up steam to where I have to Ctrl Alt Del & End Task. If I try to delete the folders from my harddrive it sits there thinking for an endless amount of time until I press cancel.

At this point I'd just like to be able to launch steam without the game automatically trying to download an update (It's currently set to not update, yet it still tries 100% of the time). It's the only game on my Steam that does it and I'd like to remove it permanently.

Welcoming any and all suggestions

I have since restarted Windows in safe mode and deleted all folders out of the RWR install, with the exception of the "media" folder. When I try to delete that it just spins it wheels. Steam still tries to auto download a 0 byte file for RWR with no signs of working.

Also, here's my specs in case anyone is wondering

OS: Win7 Premium 64 bit
CPU: i5 2400 quad core 3.1Ghz
Ram: 16Gb DDR3
Video Card: eVGA GTX 980

Have you tried checking the hard drive for errors?

There should be nothing special about RWR itself in this regards.

Maybe it's possible your antivirus software is locking something in the RWR folder? Worth checking too.

I checked the harddrive for errors and that has 100% fixed the issue. Thank you pasik!
