Hello, I posted a problem on the Steam forums, but after a few weeks it became apparent it wasn't going to be solved there, so I bring its attention here.

Custom Dialogue no longer works
I run RWR with a modified default.character file, which basically expands what people could say, like more variations of "Reloading". The recent updates seem to make this no longer work, the custom file hasn't changed but the game only plays the default texts.

How can I fix this? What changed?

-I run modified default.character file, only change is additional text responses
-Does not work on singleplayer, only plays default stuff
-Modified file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6nfg13slpqdje ... acter?dl=0
-Modified file is in fact present in the game files, did various stuff to make sure that wasn't the problem

With the language support in place now, the text content comes mostly from the language folders.

I see there's still default.character in factions folder but it is in fact not in use anymore, I guess this is the main source of confusion here.

Not sure if you're mostly just tinkering locally or if you're making a mod, but for the first, you could just edit media/packages/vanilla/languages/en/default_shared.character or media/packages/vanilla/languages/en/default.character directly.

If you're making a mod, you could have a languages/en folder tree in it, and also have your custom default.character and thus prevent media/packages/vanilla/languages/en/default.character or default_shared.character from being used.
