Could anyone give me the instructions on how to config chat hotkeys that enables me to instantly chat by pressing a desired key. (Example: press num 1=text: fire in the hole).

And, how do you test the configuration? Must it be on multiplayer? Or singleplayer? What file should I create to make the configuration?

Please help me, because I am eagered to test the thingy. It looks fun. I had read the official manual, but couldn't understand it.

Hi,

Open notepad
Copy the text below
Modify as you want
Save it as .xml to the appdata/roaming/RunningWithRifles
When in game, press F2 to determine hotkeys

<hotkeys>
<hotkey text="fire in the hole" index="0"/>
<hotkey text="Arty 2222 coming!!! Watch out!!" index="1"/>
<hotkey text="hello" index="2"/>
<hotkey text="noob" index="3"/>
<hotkey text=":D" index="4"/>
<hotkey text="enter here text for Hotkey 6" index="5"/>
<hotkey text="enter here text for Hotkey 7" index="6"/>
<hotkey text="Arty 8888 coming!!! Watch out!!" index="7"/>
<hotkey text="need medic" index="8"/>
</hotkeys>

I have done what you told me to do, but it does not work. Do I need to test it in multiplayer in order for the config to work? What name must I write? Hotkeys.xml or what?

Hi there. I'm assuming that you only wrote for a few of the hotkeys? I've tried it before with only 4 and it wouldn't work. So basically just make from index 0 through 10 and assign the hotkeys of only the ones you want.

I've uploaded the hotkeys I use. As you see I have written from index 0 to 9, but in the game control config I only assign hotkeys for 6 till 9. Here you go:

https://www.mediafire.com/?7hc4aoppry5cu1u

Anyways it works in both multiplayer and single. It works in the playground tutorial as well so you can test your key bindings there.

Cheers,
KetchupWarthog

P.S. the hotkey 1 in the controls would be index 0 in the textfile, hotkey 2 for index 1, 3 for 2, etc.etc....

Op, never mind, its working now. Yes, I only config 3 or 4 of the hotkeys, that's why it didn't work, I supposed 8-) . And yes, I talked to AI, just for fun and practice to get used to it in multiplayer.

I think I some too like ; "Indez" instead of "Index". Silly mistakes right? :mrgreen:

By the way, Thanks for helping me to config it, especially the sample code.
