Mods dont work for Macs

I followed all the directions but it just cant work! why does mods not work on Macs?

I know this sounds silly, but did you unzip the file at the location?

That aside, a lot of mac users have been having the mod problem, although I personally haven't figured out why since I don't own a Mac.

I unziped the file at download folder and dropped the unzipped file into overlays

The files must be in a folder inside the overlays folder.
something like overlays/the mod folder/all your mod files and folders here/
