Thanks for the hint! The folder was indeed not writable. I think I started the game once with sudo so the folder ~/..running_with_rifles/ was owner by root. Changed the permissions to my username and now the game starts fine

Hi Guys, So I bought the game today after playing the demo successfully on my Ubuntu 14.04 pc. Now I got the game on steam but it won't run. Whether I start the config launcher of game from steam, it always shows the config launcher. When I click start! from there the screen disappears, and then appears again. So I can't start the game. The launcher just starts a new launcher. This is a fresh install of the game. Since installing the game from steam, now the demo has this problem too. Is there any log file available? I haven't got a glue now how to fix this |

The game attempts to save its data in ~/.running_with_rifles on Linux. The config settings and the logs are stored there. If you are repeatedly starting into the configuration tool, it sounds like ~/.running_with_rifles/config.xml is unable to be written. Can you check what you've got in that folder? |
