hello i haven't been able to play on the steam version, because the game freezes my entire computer to the point i have to restart! no error pops up, the sound loops and i am on a laptop that meets the min reqs. any help would be useful i used to play it along time ago , before it was on steam. |

Ok cool, you've got one of these Code: CPU ID: AuthenticAMD: AMD A6-3400M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics. From what I've gathered, it's becoming a pattern that systems with this chip somehow don't like what Ogre3D does with shadows. You could try playing with shadows turned off, it should be stable that way for you. If that does help, I'd also want you to try adding safemode_shadows as a command line parameter and then turn shadows on. In Steam, it goes like this: Quote: Set Launch Options
Right-click on the game title under the Library in Steam and select Properties. Under the General tab click the Set launch options... button. Enter the launch options you wish to apply (be sure to separate each code with a space) and click OK. Close the game's Properties window and launch the game. |

hey ummm is there a way to turn shadows off without running the game? i also freeze just trying to get to the main menu. also thanks soooo much for the help and ill try to run in shadow safe mode or wutever after i figure out how to run without shadows safemode_shadows works! thank you so much! |

Cool, thanks for trying that out. At least there's a usable workaround to it, but it still boggles my mind what makes it so unstable on AMD APU vs everyone else. Safemode_shadows also doesn't look quite as good as the default shadows, and I think you had to set the shadow bias quite high in the tweak menu to get them to show, of course the bias has been adjusted for the default shadows.. Hmm, need to continue figuring it out what to do about it all. |
