Post subject:  Final Stage Player Testing: Minor Glitches and Oddities.

This is intended for providing "Tester" information regarding any glitches, oddities, or little broken things in the final stages of "Early Access" testing.

More along the lines of: Broken Ladders, Map Glitches, Visual Oddities, Map Texture or Polygon Issues, etc.

Not for: Crashdumps, possible individual issues, previously discussed or known regular oddities of RWR in heavy online, such as: the "ladder lag", or desyncing, or Ai throwing a bunch of grenades at a wall then running to it, or AI swarming a ladder, etc.)

As RWR gets close to final version, let's help make sure that all the details of the maps and player interface are nice and polished. Let's make sure we do our part as "Early Accessers", Vet or FNG, and help RWR be as polished and wonderful as it can be!

Post any content fulfilling the requirements above or that may seem appropriate for this thread.


Here's mine for tonight, which inspired this idea, hope it is of some help... maybe?

It's currently just post v.99.2, and I am seeing this visual oddity on the maps. I am not sure if it's something that can be changed in the player settings? Although even if you could, changing settings for something like this still seems like it's an oddity that should exist? I've seen it pop up a couple times very recently. I tried to get some footage, but I need to set to higher resolution. On video its very subtle and hard to see. It's some strange shading, in the pictures it's static, but in actual gameplay it moves, and pulses; even when you are stationary. I'll try to get some footage if I can. I have seen it show up on rocks, large sections of ground, and small triangle areas. It appears as though it's tied to a layer of shading or something for a whole area of a map. Yet only pops through where that shading counts. But as always I'm not a coder or anything, so I don't know the real mechanics.

File comment: In the picture it's static. In gameplay it pulses or moves, the direction would be towards the middle of the "X".

Opt_0: it looks like you have your shadow bias option on 0. Go to "tweak and hacks" in the option menu and raise shadow bias. A value to something like 1/4 should be fine for most people.

Okay, lol. Thanks. Although I haven't changed my settings in a long time and this just started happening. But yes, you're right; I'm pretty sure have it set low.

Some map bugs/mistakes.

Fridge Valley, there is ladders on the chainlink fence at the West Base, north side.
Bootleg Island, two junktion boxes at the residence betwen house and shore are under the ground, only top of the boxes visible.

General:
Sometimes after switching to secondary or vice versa it takes some seconds before you can use the item you switched to.

Honestly I really need to learn the map names, it's something I've never done.
So "This" map, with Villa and EastFarm, if you put an emplacement on this edge between rooftops here it clips into the roof. You can still use it, but it's odd. Also if you place a MG on the small raised spot just right it doesn't seem to fit and just explodes.

And then there is this "falling C4" bug. You place C4 to ground as a tank trap and everything is fine. But after a while, you visit armory or something and come back to watch it, its falling from around 1m height to ground all the time. And its not visible all the time. To blow it, you need good timing and swipe mouse over it to see it.

Does not happen when planted to vehicle or tower.

I'm not sure if the driving for the AI has been tweaked? But I'm seeing some weird stuff I haven't seen in a while. The Comms driving right into combat again. Tanks rolling around out of combat NOT stopping when full for Players, regardless of rank. So they just wander around get stuck and die. And lot's more Pile-up.

And on Fridge Valley, West Side-2nd Zone, the AI Drive Path crosses too near a large stone and they get stuck for minutes at a time giggling against the boulder. And the AI coming the other way does the same. Screen Enclosed.

And just FYI, the Arms truck is not blocking it, I just happen to be passing and see it again, so I took a picture.
