Recently i bought Running with rifles, I really enjoyed the demo and wanted to get the full version. Upon installation i got these error messages "C:\Program Files (x86)\Running with rifles\media\packages\vanilla\maps\lobby\map_config.xml An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed; code 5. Access is denied. then after this it asks me to retry,abort, or ignore. i usally click retry it passes it but doesn't work in the end. here are some more similar " C:\Program Files (x86)\Running with rifles\media\packages\vanilla\maps\map5\map_view_tile_white.png An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed; code 5. Access is denied. C:\Program Files (x86)\Running with rifles\media\packages\vanilla\maps\map7/dirt.png An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed; code 5. Access is denied. C:\Program Files (x86)\Running with rifles\media\packages\vanilla\textures\hud_meter.png An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed; code 5. Access is denied. C:\Program Files (x86)\Running with rifles\media\packages\vanilla\textures\world_atlas1.png An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed; code 5. Access is denied. after this it finishes and shows the following error on startup then crashes An exception has occurred! OGRE EXCEPTION(6:FileNotFoundExcpetion): Cannot open file: security_fence_climb1.wav in FileSystemArchive::open at ..\..\..\..\OgreMain\src\OgreFileSystem.cpp (line 251) Please help me i really want to play this game at its full glory. Comment if you need anymore information i can provide. |

Googling with MoveFile failed; code 5 comes up with results from similar issues with other installers, with the proposed solution being disabling antivirus software while doing the install. |

I'm pretty much out of ideas here, Google indeed suggests only to disable antivirus / security software (Kaspersky, Norton seem to be the ones blamed mostly for false positives) while installing. To workaround having to use the installer, you could use Desura desktop client and use it to download and launch RWR. |

I used to have Norton but that was a while ago and i no longer have it, I have no idea what to do of how to fix this and i don't want to have wasted 10$ on a game a cant play |

There's some talk about Norton removal tool here http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-I ... d-p/532112 , sounds like something can be left over after uninstalling it. Also try running the RWR installer as an admin user if your user account already isn't one. You could also try to install the game somewhere else than under Program Files folder. Using Desura you might not have this issue as it uses another way to install RWR, you could give it a try at least. RWR will also become available in Steam soon and you'll receive a Steam redeem key. Steam will thus provide yet another way to install RWR. You can of course get a refund if the game isn't working for you. Desura handles the refunds. |
