Post subject:  libwx_gtk2u_richtext-2.8.so.0 missing error
Got an error when launching RWR:
"error while loading shared libraries: libwx_gtk2u_richtext-2.8.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
[Ubuntu 12.10, RWR Beta 0.80 , installed via Desura]

I got around the problem by installing wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit (GTK+ runtime) (have no clue what that is :) )
sudo apt-get install libwxgtk2.8-0

Hope this is helpful for someone else.

I tried installing libwxgtk2.8-0 and Ubuntu already says that I have that installed. I've tried multiple other packages, I tried building from wxgtk source. I even tried symlinking all of the different wxgtk files and renaming to the name that shows in the error ( libwx_gtk2u_richtext-2.8.so.0 ). When I do that it tells me that it is missing an ELFCLASS (I think that's what it said...)

I really want to play! I have 12.10 64 bit. (Also, I tried installing with apt-get and adding ":i386" and the apt-cache apparently has no libwxgtk for that...)

If someone knows what to do, I'd be so happy! Otherwise, maybe someone could just attach the file here and I can try it that way! :geek:

We need to do something smart about the issues with installing wxWidgets, but for now, there's this workaround:

"There's a hacky workaround, you'd use this http://modulaatio.com/runningwithrifles/config.xml, edit it manually according to your needs, and with demo, place it in rwr folder in a subfolder called "data", or with the latest game build, place it in your home folder in a subfolder called ".running_with_rifles"."
