The game crashes with this error from time to time when I run it windowed. Never got this when running fullscreen.

No crashdump but this shows up in the log though (basically the same thing as in the error message):
Code:
23:21:56: OGRE EXCEPTION(3:RenderingAPIException): Error Presenting surfaces in D3D9Device::present at ..\..\..\..\..\RenderSystems\Direct3D9\src\OgreD3D9Device.cpp (line 993)
23:21:56:                                         : uninit comms

To me it seems pretty random when it happens. I can't think of any particular map/situation/event that could cause it.
Using the latest graphics drivers from nvidia, and the latest directx version.

does it happen, when you are alt+tabbing during a mapchange?

It usually happens in the middle of "normal" play. I don't think I've seen it happen when alt-tabbing out/back in again. Iirc it has happened a few times when quitting with alt-f4 (as opposed to using the menu), but not for a long time.
I see now I had an old screen of this from about 2 months ago too (completely the same), but for some reason it stopped happening so I assumed whatever caused it had been fixed, but it happened again just yesterday.

It has also happened during sessions where I haven't alt-tabbed at all too.

I've not seen it happen during mapchange (while the loading screen shows).

Also it it happens very rarely, somewhere around 5-10 hours of playtime between the occurrences.

Did the reference to that line in the source provide any clue at all?
And am I the only one having this?
Might perhaps be something weird on my end in that case. :roll:

the alt+F4 crash is a known issue, also the being alt-tabbed while the map changes. Apart from that I didn't crash a single time since ages in vanilla.
And no the error message isn't helpful.
