All right. I have this problem - I can not log on as "Modest" because I simply don't remember my password. So I would like to know how do I recover it in game, so I can be myself on Invasion server. I think that there MUST be a way to do this. Also there MUST be a way to change password. If not now, than surely in some future releases. For now though it is important (actually critical as I simply will not play as anybody else than myself - Modest is nick that I got used to so much I simply don't want/will not abandon) for me to be able to get back/recover my password. Unfortunatly I simply don't remember what it was (sure if I would problem would be solved before it occured).
So in short - How do I do it? How do I recover my profile password for SAS Invasion server?
Thank You from advance.

Password change is problematic currently because the servers are only collecting your username and password data to authenticate you; there's no secondary way like e.g. having you input your e-mail address in order for the server / admin to send you a new password via e-mail (and that would require servers to be properly configured to send e-mail in the first place or it would burden admins to point of going insane)..
There is a way to change the password, but it requires you to bother the admin of the server and figure out the hash for your username and the digest for your new password.
I guess the easiest way to figure out the username hash is by starting a new campaign and setting the username there as SOMETHING ELSE than the username you'd use on the server. Start the campaign and activate the server to make it joinable.
Now, start another RWR instance and using the manual ip input menu join your own server by setting localhost as the IP address and port as what you used when activating the server. Set username and password as you'd like them on SAS Invasion in this case.
After you've joined you can just quit both RWR instances. Go to %appdata%\Running with rifles\savegames\[your_campaign_name].save and open the .profile files in a text editor. One of them corresponds with your desired username and you've got the digest written there as well.
Next, you ask DocStone politely to access his Invasion server folder, and profiles subfolder there, look for a .profile matching your hash, open the file and change digest to match your new digest.
Done, password changed.

We are going towards a solution that Steam users could avoid using password entirely, although not sure if that'll be very useful in the end when client side profiles become a thing.
