Sadly this cannot install as it says i'm missing a required resource.

Well, that's definitely strange.

Usually the DirectX 9 issue with this game comes from not having d3dx9_42.dll file on your system. You can google it to find it somewhere else than Microsoft directly, but I DON'T RECOMMEND IT. There's an obvious risk of getting a virus this way or running into a bunch of other problems.

That is the EXACT file I'm missing. Strange.


If the Microsoft DirectX 9.0c update doesn't work, I think you can also try this one http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8109, it's about 100Mb though.
