Work(s/ed) until the lower grenade range. Or until you run out of grenades.

Nah, it happens on flat terrain too, its just slightly off center. Its probably due to the camera angle.

Hide in cover, then get out and occasionally spray bullets at one guy, and crouch then reload. Rinse and repeat. If they charge, use a grenade. The trick is to take them out 1 at a time when shooting, so they don't have the chance to fire back at you to kill you.

I do that all the time...

Another just comes behind me and shoots me while reloading, or a grenade kills me while reloading.
