Hey there Pasik, I just want to say that this game is by far one of the most innovative and interesting games I've seen for a while. The gameplay is great, the ideas are there and the concepts work perfectly. Can I ask why you took away the 1000 AI option though? I had lots of fun with it ![]() And how is the next build looking? It seems the forums died off around the end of last year. Good luck Jak |

1000 AI ? wow. For me at least it would be way too much, I often play with 50 AI (at least on map2). As for now, pasik is working on the implementation of water, so I'm pretty confident that he will introduce it in the next build! I can't wait! |

Well I had great fun in the demo of 0.4 with 1000 AI. maybe I'll try out 50 and see how it goes but my question is why limit the consumer to only 600 AI when at one point it was in fact possible to have 1000 AI units running about? |

Well it's maybe a matter of taste but I prefer dying when I know what happened. When there is 1000 AI you somehow dies without seeing it come because there are just too many soldiers around :p |

I have the same question. Why is the forums so dead for such a great game? |

Thanks ComJak! I think there used to be a time back in the alpha days when the soldier count setting didn't reflect the reality in the game that well due to the amazingly low respawn rate. After that was fixed, the 1000 soldier count became an absolute mess ![]() The current 600 setting should be somewhat close to the old 1000, If I'm not completely mistaken. I have to say I haven't played much even with the current 600 setting, and I didn't play much with the old 1000, so I'm probably not the one to say. I personally think the bigger counts make the maps a little bit too crowded, but that's just me, and allowing some range for experimenting with these kinds of things is a good thing ![]() Whenever I get a proper UI slider implemented (I've lost count of how many times I've said that..), I'll increase the range once again! About the next build, it's looking just great, got some minor fixes coming in, the long-awaited clipboard paste functionality and the water areas like MissDjax said. I still have to spend some days to get the soldier/weapon/grenade - water interaction right and make the AI aware of the water, but I think the release should be pretty much complete after those. Hope to get some screenshots of the water on the blog next weekend. |

Sounds great! I just liked the hectic and crazy feel of 1000 troops (or what I THOUGHT was 1000 troops). I can't wait for the water update. Because then you can make beach maps and lakes and BOATS AND SUBMARINES AND SQUID AND DOLPHINS! Anyways, on a more serious note, if your ever looking for someone to do some modeling for you, I could give it a shot. I've touched on 3dsMax and Milkshape before but voxel modeling is new to me. I'd be willing to learn if you need someone for things like weapon models and the like. Jak |
