Hello all. I have been using Barrett M107 quite extensively, and just like with any sniper (or with any rifle for that matter) there's some blood spatter occurring when the target is hit (but not dead!).

Now the thing is, Barrett has a kill probability of 3 (300%), which in practical terms should mean that even if I hit the target in the legs or arms, it should be dead, no?
Technically speaking just by looking at numbers, shouldn't it be one shot, one kill?
Why is it that frequently, after I hit the target, only the blood splatters everywhere but the target is still there?

Ahh the Barrett XD Well technically the 300% probability means that it will go through 3 layers of armour. So anyone wearing a Type I or Type II vest will be instantly killed. EOD armour and Type III will go down to the third layer which will cause them to go to the "stun" effect (I believe it's the 40% armour). The blood splatter you see is probably due to packet lost; I play in Brutus SG as well and some days I would get such bad ping I couldn't kill anyone. In theory if you play offline or with low ping the Barrett will kill anything not armoured with Type III or EOD, but if you have high ping explosive weapons will be the best (I use the XM-25 alot for a reason).

p.s.
How's the Barrett and VSS suiting you? :)

Hi KetchupWarthog, good to see you again.
Good and good, I gave the VSS a rest for a bit :) (but I didn't lose it this time lol)

I understand how latency affects the game, but the blood spatter/splatter indicated that the target has been hit. When I played on Chicago servers I simply couldn't hit anything due to high latency, but this is a different matter as I explained. The target can be either hit or not hit, package lost should simply mean that the target is not hit, not just "partially hit". Even if it is partially hit, such high caliber (300% KP) should severely disable the target, knock it off into the wounded, need medic state.
