Until recently, in PvP we had the "Classic" gamemode which wasn't really a gamemode as such, more a map rotation of quick matches. In 0.99.8 we set up a new gamemode based on "Classic" which we shall be calling "Dominance" from here on. The mode is still in balancing phase so it might not reflect the gaming experience it might have after the mode has been extensively tested with more than a handful of players.
Main features:
1) Persistent profiles: when you leave the match, you'll still have the equipment/XP/RP/stats you had when you join again 2) Overall/Match stats (on the scoreboard, you can switch between them) 3) No death penalty 4) Lower equipment requirement for most items 5) No elites, no valuables drops and no rare weapons 6) Killing a bot gives you 1XP+1RP, killing a human 15XP+15RP, capturing a base up to 50RP. Spotting and destroying of vehicles give less reward than in invasion 7) Max time to win a map (45 min for normal maps, 30 min for King of the Hill maps) 8) extended single base capture system where sometimes you have more than one base capture objective, the main objective which is the bigger red crosshair and optional smaller red crosses. The AI commander will only target the main objective but players are free to choose 9) Some maps have bases left out to keep the fighting territory smaller
