I understand what the other layouts do, but when I play singleplayer and need to go behind hostile lines, I select the "Stealth" layout. But nobody joins my squad at all.

Is there a specific way to get your AI squad members to have silenced weapons?

Stealth squad config is pretty useless as the odds to have an AI with a suppressed weapon around is almost 0. The AI can't handle stealth as it's a player specific thing.

So there is no way to have a stealth squad made up of a few AI? It just seems odd to have that option in the game and not be able to use it entirely.

We might remove it, yes.

Is there any other option than removing from there? So it could be mean useless at all.

I often use exactly the stealth command when I want to get rid of my squad - it's easier to use this instead to reduce the number of the squad by pressing 10 times the specific button.

Or just command squad to go other direction than you are going and they are gone. Problem is that if you meet AI's they join you, but often behind the lines you are alone.

you'll still be able to make your own custom squad layouts anyway.

This is another commonly used method by me, but I'd prefer to use a single click for that. ;)

Yea, I've heard about it, but frankly I don't know what exactly I must do. Adding a script, editing some of the existing xml file or something else?
So, please Jack, explain how to do that.

go to

Code:
\media\packages\vanilla\factions

in all_squad_configs.xml you'll have a list of the different layouts in use. Just add something like <squad_config file="no_ai.squad_config" /> and create a no_ai.squad_config file. Just use an existing one as template. If you edit those you'll see that it's pretty self-explanatory.
