Greetings! I have a question.

I was trying out a sniper rifle earlier and the bullet spread seems terrible.
Even though my cursor appears to have a green light over my target, the bullet would completely miss the target.

If sniper rifles can't be at least 90% accurate all the time, then what use are they?

I've tried going prone, but that didn't help its accuracy either.
Am I missing something here?

Well, which sniper rifle were you using? The Dragonov, M24A2, the VSS Vintorez, or something modded? The M24A2 is the dedicated sniper rifle, it has 100% accuracy on prone. The Dragunov has slightly less, but you it;s semi automatic and still has the same kill percent. The VSS Vintorez is just both those mashed together, except fully automatic and suppressed. ;)

Also note that when you're moving at any speed your accuracy goes down the drain. And are you using a modded weapon? The stats might be the problem there.

I was using the M24A2. I haven't modded any guns. :)
Is there perhaps a count down time after going prone before your accuracy increases?

Thanks for your reply. I guess I'll need to do some more practicing with that gun in order to understand it.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say you were overencumbered when you were shooting? If your soldier has a "backpack" on his back, that means he's carrying too much in his backpack and will suffer a 300% (?) accuracy loss. With this penalty, you can't hit ANYTHING with even sniper rifles.

Oooooh! Yeah, I was wearing a backpack. There wasn't much in it though. I honestly had no idea it'd reduce my aiming. :o
Thanks! :)

Edit: Yeah, I feel really stupid now. I read the available guides, but I guess not thoroughly enough.
But shots are landing where I want them to land. I am happy. :D
