Post subject:  0.92 version: spawning with g36

Everytime i get new weapon and got killed, Im spawning with g36, why did you change that?
why cant I spawn with the new weapon that i acquired on the battlefield?

Its not that i got superweapon, i mean the normal weapons like famas,ak47, m16, not p90 or f2000
why I have to respawn with g36 all the time?

Those are enemy weapons if you're playing green. If you go to an armory, you can see your faction doesn't have any of those weapons (except m16).

In Invasion, certain armories announce enemy weapons as demand items from time to time. Doing the deliveries will increase your relation to faction and completing the deliveries will unlock the weapon -> now you have it in armory, and you can spawn with it.

I'm pretty sure there will be an option to make every faction have every weapon, but in the meantime that could be handled with a mod too.

so i brought 3 famas g1 to my armory and sold them of course, and it didnt show up in my armory

It did here. Did you take them to the right armory? It's shown in map which armories want which items.

Currently the delivery objective radio message doesn't have a way to identify which armory it is, so it just says "armory" which is vague. Check the map for the targets, the objective is marked with an X and hovering over it shows what the objective was.

of course, when you move the mouse over the armory it shows what to bring, thats what i did, and my lovely famas didnt show up there :(

I will try again now and let you know

Are you getting the RP rewards after you've dropped the item in armory? It should give you +100 RP for each. Also the requested weapon count in the objective message in map should decrease, and finally disappear.

Thus the items can be delivered one by one.

Also in multiplayer they can be delivered by any player, it's a common objective.

well it worked now :)

i bring 3 famases, killed my self and spawned with famas again :D

i dont know why it didnt work in map before, maybe i didnt notice something, ok nvm, it all works now, thank you pasik :oops: :)

It's very possible there are some bugs still there, would be great to know if you stumble on this behavior again.

Reasons I could think of for this would be
1) The script has stopped running -- media/packages/vanilla/scripts/metagame.log could tell why
2) Saving & loading doesn't work as expected, forgetting the unlocked status

I know for sure that map change in Invasion will lose the unlocks, but that could be intentional as well, otherwise you'll run out of unlocks pretty fast and you don't have this as an additional RP source in the later stages.

Anyway, the thing needs a bit of tweaking still to be more fulfilling, as unlocking inferior weapons isn't that nice (not to mention doing same inferior weapons haha) even if you'd get the RP, and the resources for Greens happen to be pretty good to start with.

Getting one rare weapon / vest as a prize could alleviate the issue too.

Well, now i see what happend, its the saving loading issue i think, now i loaded the same game, and Famas disappeared from the armory, and when i died i spawned again with G36, feels like trying for nothing =/

hope it will be fixed

Thanks for checking that, gonna look into it. The factions are set to save their resources, which at least would appear to be working (C:\Users\pasik\AppData\Roaming\Running with rifles\savegames\battle0.save\game.xml has faction specific weapons listed), and at least in code it would seem they are indeed loaded (cleared first, then read in from the savegame file).

Any unlocked weapons are going through the same system, but maybe there's something I'm missing here.
