DIO! I was happy to see you in a PVP arena today! Although, it also had its share of noobs, like that guy who kept insisting that you had an aimbot O.o.

Tanks, halp, and also tnx for the game! :)
Yea, that was epic - "aimbot" vs novice..... something like 20/1 in favor of my bot. I think this could be my future concealed weapon 8-) ...... moreover, that boy hadn't even noticed the advantages of terrain. Sometimes such kind of players are quite amusing :D

Seriously, a few days ago(when SAS was down for awhile) there were more than 20 ppl and it was really nice game.

I work quickly, cheaply and qualitatively. You can choose only two of the three options.

It has been great fun last few days with +40 players.
We managed to play full round with these newbies so i think server settings are OK. Of course there is quite much to kill and lots of RP's was spent to artillerys to capture areas but it's OK for me.

I have noticed the same that when im wounded, guys just run by even Im yelling help and tell how to use kit. I wonder if these players even read the chat. Maybe they think its not worth to save other players.
But when i think my self when i started to play this game... I had no idea what should be done because i did not play singleplayer at all.

Anyway, great XP farming when there is +40 players. Artillery 8 round to enemy's last base makes heavenly XP's. One artillery combo gave me something like 212XP from last kill. How many kills it means?
I made over 40 000XP in short time with artillerys. :D

I suggest that vest could be available from the beginning. Now these newbies are whining about how difficult it is and they die all the time and then quit.

More amusing when they're on the other team, gifting you kills, than when they're on you're team, kicking you out of the tank and then getting it destroyed within 15 seconds :-).

But yeah, the big game the other day was nice. Too bad people don't play any of the PVP modes unless inva is down, though.

This is one of my least favorite things about the current settings. It's way too easy to get a ton of XP using arty, or by setting up sandbags and firing into a gigantic crowd of people.

Agreed on the vest thing, but I think it can be hard for noobs to get enough RP to buy vests.

Yeah, getting enough RP to get a vest can be hard, especially when you purchase one of the 10 RP primary weapons, a bunch of grenades, and a decent secondary. But I guess not being able to purchase a vest early on is good for us, cause it teaches us to be a bit more cautious and be less run and gun. I know for a fact that I'm too impatient about large fights, where I always try to kill all the Ai and move up, only to get killed but an AI that was on the corner of my screen. Now, about the vests, they are kind of finicky when it comes to using them. A lot of the time I get shot the second time with a vest on, I get stunned, and then the moment I get back up, the Ai shoot me again and I become wounded. Maybe there should be a system where Ai won't target you when you get back up from the stun of getting shot with a vest on.

Partly agree, because I think it would not be completely fair compared to more experienced players.

Not so hard though. ;) I remember when I was novice in my short(at that time) life, the most desired thing was to be able to use a vest. I managed to figure that I dying more often than I want and I lose RP for every death. So my primary task was to stash all valuables which I found(were stashed about - 3 lona Misa's, 5 Briefcases, some Teddy's and more) or to stash the vests until reaching 1000 XP, otherwise by selling them I had no RP at the end. I still remember that my first bought vest was like a small celebration. :D
Btw I earned part of my first 10 or even maybe 15 K RP by collecting scrap

I'm sure this was the purpose to require not less of 1000 XP for usage. It is assumed that when you reach 1000 XP, you have experienced enough, although I've seen players with 2-3-4 XP doing a stupid things. :)

Rank and XP is more an indicator of time played than actual skill. Although ideally people should have learned some few things about tactics by the time they hit 5k XP. Not always the case though.

Yeah, like not driving the tank into a whole mosh pit of enemy Ai that all have RPGs.

I suppose this is a scripting issue and not a game issue, but something I'd like to see is map selection balance.

For the past few weeks, if I log onto Invasion, it's very likely that people are playing map4 because it's easy to get stuck on map4. Similarly, if you log onto a Classic game, it's very likely to be on one of two maps that's easy to stalemate.

If map selection were pseudo-random, with the probability of selecting a map adjusted by the amount of time people spend on maps, it would be trivial to dynamically adjust the settings so that the probability of any map being played at any particular time is the same for all maps.

As it is now, the "worse" the map is the more likely it is to be up at any given time.

If you don't like randomness, you could also do this by deterministically skipping over maps that have used more than their share of time, which will also have the effect of automatically balancing things.
