In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only running... with RIFLES! Download v6 Here! Download v5 Here! Chainsword stab replacement Download v4.1 Here! Download v3.1 Here! Download v2 Here! Download v1 Here! Watch ComJak's review: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_deafHZX9w How to install Running with Bolters Step 0: Download the mod Step 1: Find your the RWR game folder. It's probably C:\Program Files (x86)\Running with rifles or C:\Program Files (x86)\Desura\Common\running-with-rifles. Step 2: Open media and create a folder named overlays. Step 3: Open the .zip file you downloaded. You will find a folder named RWBolters. Step 4: Copy RWBolters and paste it in your newly created overlays folder. Step 5: Launch the game. When the menu screen loads, click on the Change map & resources button. Step 6: Select the map you would like to play. When you have it selected, click on the button that says Setup mods (0). Step 7: There will be two buttons. Off will be highlighted green and On will not. Click on the button On. It should now be highlighted. Step 8: Click on Back to map setup Step 9: Click on Change Step 10: The mod should load correctly. If not, try deleting _default.save. If that still doesn't work, try deleting the RWBolters folder and reinstalling it. Alternatively, watch ComJak's tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMEh-thAsEE[/size] I do not own the license for the Warhammer 40k IP. Wow..... the sounds are solid. The sounds fit the power of the weapons sooooo perfectly. The models, names, and sounds go together so well. When I walk, I hear a mech-ish metal clanking on dirt sound and it is soooo satisfying. The weapons are smooth (In terms of Bolt-type weapons) to the sounds and damage dealt. I could sit in the wild just firing the weapons all day because the sound design is SO good. I give this mod a solid 10/10 Love it. |

not to shit on your mod but i'm pretty sure storm bolters were SMG/pistols for terminators and rarely used by non-terminators? ![]() perhaps a heavy bolter is what you are looking for in the MG department? Great mod! i was thinking of doing a WH mod myself. edit : Another pointer after playing: more definition in character models. Good pixel shading can do wonders for a 3d effect. (especially around the backpack and legs) Awesome sound effects. Beautiful honestly. Do you plan to change the sounds for grass walking too because it would probably also be a little metallic as well. |

Wow, you guys seem to really love the sounds. It is with great shame that I say this but... they aren't mine Seriously, I found them on a website full of free sound files. If I remembered which one it was, I would credit them, honestly. I suspect that the files were originally ripped from the game Dawn of War 2. to Comjak: I know that heavy bolters would fit better but they're usually held underslung and I couldn't find a way to keep it that way without it looking horrible. Since storm bolters are lighter and also used as machine guns (mounted on tanks), I thought they were a better fit. Gaah my rationale sounds silly but it is logical, really! If Pasik implements support for seperate weapon animations, I might replace the storm bolter but for now, it will have to remain. I'll try to improve definition like you said. to Rendered: I'm glad you like the seapon stats! |
