Why couldn't a a mesh soldier be loaded in? if it has the same skeleton, it can be exported as a XML file? would the game not like that? if I made a low poly model of a gallian soldier and gave it the RWR skeleton, can it not render it?

I actually have no idea, although I suspect not because rotation of limbs in animations aren't controlled - thusly a 3D soldier model wouldn't know what to do with this trianglre or that, or it might just look incredibly bad with hands and fingers pointing in wrong directions, etc.

EDIT:
Just talked with Jack, isn't possible.

Dang it. why though? a model is no different than voxels it's all made up of triangles and polys. bah nvm. what about the guns? can they be 3d mdoels?

As for why, I don't know exactly why - the only answer Jack gave me was no. Although like I said, rotation of the limbs isn't taken into account with the animations, so if it even did work, it wouldn't look very good at all.

Weapons should be good, go for it if you want. Although I feel like they should be kept as voxel models for the sake of being voxel models, but that's your call.

So after hours and hours of trying, I got my hands on the super low poly psp models form VC2 they all use one texture each an are not super detailed, I would love to use them in this mod if i can. can someone tell me what exporter i need for the XML files and how big they should be?

You'll need to export those models to OGRE .mesh - I suggest using Blender. You can get it for free (even on Steam) and here's the exporter for it:

If you need to get the model from your program to Blener, just export it to .obj and import it into Blender. After that, you should be good. Just make sure to change the model file line to the model mesh line from weapons like the deployable MG - copy and paste it over and edit it. Voila, 3D weapon in-game. :)

Sweet! I already use blender a lot so no trouble there. if this works then the armory for this mod is already done. I got everything from the guns to the tanks. I need to work on the voxel models. is there a way to make it so soldiers start with randomized soldier models to give more feel to the game?

Also with the tanks and stuff. it would be freaking awsome if they could also randomize when they spawn. to give some real depth and feel to the combat.

So it took me the greater potion of the day. but I have all the weapons ready to be worked on and converted to Oger mesh. I seriously want to find someone who can do the voxel soldiers cause I HATE the program. I know how to use it it's just frustrating to use.

I do need to know though. what is the MOST maximum amount of guns that can be put into the game? cause there are just so many that can be added ! to make this truly like VC2

So here we are, the scout rifles in order. I need to know. how do I position them to work as ORGE mesh? like what way do they need to be facing and how small or big do I make them?
